The new sustainable pavilion for the Werkzaak Rivierenland LeerLab in Geldermalsen was festively opened last Friday by chairman Anita Sørensen and director Elfriede Boer. It offers jobseekers an ideal environment for learning and development, set within a scenic learning garden. The building minimises its ecological footprint and contributes to social durability. Instead of commercial construction methods, the pavilion was realised as a learning project, where a diverse group of apprentices gained construction skills to increase their job opportunities. This project therefore provides a high 'social return': it is a building for people, built by people.
