In late 2018, we were asked for the circular renovation of the in total 36,000 m2 Nationale-Nederlanden's offices in The Hague and Rotterdam. The goal? 100% circular, zero waste, lowest possible MKI and WELL Platinum certification.
But how do you get started on a design task if you can't throw anything away? Dirk Zwaan, architect at Fokkema & Partners, explains how they worked with design manuals. "Because we had such concrete ambitions, we also had to look at the task in a new way, which felt like pioneering."
