In Hoofddorp, a new city hall is taking shape. One that embodies everything the polder stands for: clarity, pragmatism and a future‑focused mindset. An open and straightforward building that reflects how Haarlemmermeer works: clear, accessible and grounded.

Location Hoofddorp
Square 15500
Timeline January 2022 - expected 2028

Functional, friendly and designed with common sense
The interior design follows the building’s architecture closely: light, organized and transparent. Public counters, workspaces, meeting rooms, the council chamber and the wedding room are united by one coherent design language. Intuitive, readable and accessible. Subtle references to the history of the Haarlemmermeer give the building its own identity, such as the round central space that echoes the cylindrical form of the former city hall.

Sustainable by conviction
Sustainability is embedded in every choice. Existing furniture is reused wherever possible, new elements are made from circular materials and everything is designed for long life cycles. The result is an interior that minimizes environmental impact while remaining timeless and comfortable. As construction progresses, a city hall emerges that is pragmatic, warm and future‑ready. A sustainable home for the entire Haarlemmermeer. The new building is expected to open in mid‑2028.
