your home
Starting with a love for people, we embark on a journey to discover the possibilities that answer to your needs.
To improve its connection to the garden, this home extension joins a former semi-basement storage floor with the generous living spaces on the main floor. The interconnection of spaces has affirmed the flexibility of this 100 year old residence to adapt to the changes in the way we live and work in our own, personal style. The double story extension has an all glazed facade with slender detailing.

An extension to bring the outside inside.
The double story extension has an all glazed facade with slender detailing. Window frames are integrated in the floor, ceiling and walls as much as possible, making the transition from inside to outside very smooth. A void was included to draw in more natural light, making space for a large living kitchen on the lower floor. Construction to carry the weight of the facade above is carefully dimensioned and designed to make sure all lines and corners align perfectly, creating a clear architectural shell.

Its all about friendship, having fun and starting a life together.
Two classrooms in a building from the early 1900's were converted into the spacious living quarters for a young couple. The couple envisioned a welcoming, fun space, Bruce Wayne style, with a touch of magic. With natural materialisation and subtle detailing extending the entire height of the space, a luxurious, daylight flood and welcoming home was created to answer all their wishes.

Reinterpretation of luxury in a traditional gentlemans home
Values for comfortable living have changed since the 1890's and in this residence several interventions now interconnect the living spaces, opening up to more daylight and a lush green urban garden. Minimalistic detailing distinguishes the interventions in glass and steel from the existing detailed interior.

Conversion of a warehouse.
Hans Lensvelt: “In the nineties I was looking for an old warehouse here in Antwerp. Visited about 20 warehouses until I fell in love with this one. It was love at first side. An big unaffected warehouse with huge floors and view on the harbor. It was so inspiring. Although it was a rough neighborhood at that tine, I bought it and so it happened. At that time I had just done the interior of the city hall of The Hague, a project by the American architect Richard Meier. A young kid worked there who I thought was talented: Diederik Fokkema who had just started his own agency. He made the plans for the warehouse and made it into a modern spacious loft.”

House on a country estate
Amid the picturesque woods of Almen arises a spacious residence for an urban couple in search of countrylife. Extensive research into the typical building structures of the region led to highlighting certain archetypes: farm houses, covered haystacks and sheds that form typical landmarks in the original countryside. Each has a characteristic roof type, such as a sloping saddle roof, classic 'schild' roof or 'mansarde' type roof (where each side of the roof is divided into 2 panels). Incorporating these features in the home to umbrella a precisely configured interior results in the unique view of the roof top silhouette, which changes according to the chosen vantage point. It is this dynamic characteristic of the regional landscape that formed the basis of the design of a unique, modern interpretation of the classical farm structure.
