The Matrix Innovation Center Amsterdam
Now that the environmental permit has been officially submitted, we’re excited to unveil a glimpse of this inspiring project!
The new Matrix Innovation Center, Designed by NUDUS, will be a dynamic hub for tech startups, scale-ups, and spin-ins within the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Located on the VU Campus, it aims to connect the urban and scientific communities, promoting collaboration and innovation.
Fokkema & Partners Architects is designing the interiors for the shared spaces, including a public café, event areas, and workspaces surrounding a multifunctional atrium. The nine-story building will accomodate offices, labs, a showcase lab, and a rooftop terrace.
The atrium, filled with natural light, serves as the heart of the building and provides a connecting to the terrace. Biophilic design elements integrate the outdoors with the interior. A signature bar on the public square and the tiles in the floor subtly refer to the special circular façade design.
